A small, upholstered ottoman conceived as a tribute to the city of Milan, its shape and texture recall the concrete bollards prevalent throughout the city that look like a “panettone”, a traditional holiday cake. The allusion is ironically applied to the notion of comfort: a notoriously hard, uncomfortable object becomes soft and inviting, therefore, attractive. The names for all of Internoitaliano’s objects are a tribute to minor Italians towns and villages, those that are rarely celebrated, but nonetheless are just as real and representative of a suffused and authentic national identity. Bard is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of northwestern Italy. It is part of the Unité des communes valdôtaines du Mont-Rose and has a population of 134.
